The Global Food Security Symposium 2013 will focus on how to mobilize science, increase trade, and capitalize on the power of business to alleviate chronic malnutrition and poverty to meet future food demand. The Chicago Council also will release a study that defines priorities for the next phase of the US government's global food security strategy. Please find the preliminary agenda for the event attached.

Science Forum 2013 will focus on Nutrition and health outcomes: targets for agricultural research to be held from Sept 23-25 in Bonn, Germany. Its objective is to agree on the research needs and identify new scientific approaches and new partnerships, through which the agricultural community can add most value to the delivery of nutrition and health outcomes.
The Science Forum will provide an opportunity for scientists to explore the nexus of agriculture, health and nutrition with external experts from these fields.The Science Forum 2013 will be led by the Independent Science and Partnership Council (ISPC) on behalf of the CGIAR, and co-hosted by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) Germany.

The 5th AESOP Conference on Sustainable Food Planning will be held in Montpellier, France on October 28-29, 2013. This conference will focus on innovations in urban food systems, with specific sessions on flows, land and governance.
Building upon the first four Sustainable Food Planning Conferences in Almere (2009), Brighton (2010), Cardiff (2011) and Berlin (2012), this conference will promote cross-disciplinary discussions between researchers and practitioners from the global North and the global South.
This event will be organized by the two research labs Innovation and Moisa (from INRA, CIRAD and Supagro) in connection with the UNESCO Chair on World Food Systems and the research program SURFOOD (sustainable urban food) funded by Agropolis Foundation.

Belgian Nutrition Society (BNS), The Nutrition Society (NS) and Société Française de Nutrition (SFN) co-organize on 28 and 29 May 2013 in Lille under the auspices of the Federation of European Nutrition Societies (FENS), a conference on "Sustainable Diet and Food Security".
This conference will bring together leading European experts in the field who will give lectures spread over four symposia. Two other speakers will debate about genetically modified foods. One session will be devoted to the presentation of their work by 8 post-graduate students or post-doctoral fellows.
This Conference is a unique opportunity to discuss a topic of growing importance in the fields of health, economics, ethics and society in general. All the participants involved in the fields of health, biology, social sciences and humanities are welcome to join this conference.

The Leverhulme Centre for Integrative Research on Agriculture and Health (LCIRAH) is proud to announce that its 3rd Annual Conference, Developing methods in agriculture and health research, will be held at the Royal Veterinary College's Camden Campus, London, on the 13-14th June 2013.
The focus of this 2 day conference will be on methodological and integrative aspects of research on agriculture and health and will feature the work and findings of researchers in agricultural development, nutrition, public health, economics, anthropology, veterinary science and other related fields.
