Join the Nutrition and NCDs eGroup
You are very welcome to join the discussion on Nutrition & NCDs. You can subscribe by clicking here.
This is a virtual space dedicated for sharing ideas, knowledge and experience on how to make nutrition considerations more central to NCD action on the ground.
Of special concern is the double burden of malnutrition in low- and middle-income countries. We hope this e-discussion forum can contribute to building programming and policy development capacities of various groups of stakeholders in these countries and globally.
As Governments gathered at a High-level Meeting on the prevention and control of noncommunicable diseases (19-20 September 2011) in the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York, building momentum for moving to action on the ground is paramount. The UNSCN worked on a discussion paper on the matter that was distributed at the UNGA High-Level meeting with input from the members of the e-discussion forum. You can read the English version of the discussion paper that was distributed here (la version française du document de travail peut être téléchargée ici).
Through this e-discussion forum it is envisaged that we will collectively move forward after the UN High-Level Meeting on the prevention and control of NCDs (New York, September 2011) in order to raise awareness on the linkages between undernutrition and obesity and diet-related chronic diseases, and help suggest ways in which stakeholders can translate policy and political commitments into real action at country-level.
