SCN Steering Committee

Role of the SCN Steering Committee

A Steering Committee of not more than ten members (composed of at least five UN agencies, and at least one each from the Bilateral and NGO/CSO constituencies) under the leadership of the SCN Chair and supported by the SCN Secretariat, guides and monitors the implementation of the Action Plan in the context of the Strategic Framework. The SCN Steering Committee was established in 2000. Prior to 2000 the SCN was guided by an Advisory Group on Nutrition (AGN) composed of distinguished experts. At the 27th Session in 2000 a Strategic Plan was adopted, the AGN was disbanded, and the Steering Committee.

See also Terms of Reference 4 in the SCN Strategic Framework 2006-2010.
