IFAD commits to the Nutrition Decade

The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) affirmed its full commitment to contribute concretely and effectively to the Nutrition Decade in support of their Member States.

As a specialized UN agency and an international financial institution focused on the needs of smallholder farmers and poor rural people, IFAD seeks to improve nutrition by combining solid technical knowledge with the provision of the finance that governments need to make lasting and effective investments in nutrition-sensitive agriculture. Considering IFAD’s comparative advantage, significant contributions to the Nutrition Decade will be made to sustainable, resilient food systems for healthy diets (Action Area 1) and to trade and investment for improved nutrition (Action Area 4).
