Global Festival of Ideas for Sustainable Development – “New thinking for a better world”

Bonn, Germany

1–3 March 2017

A revolution is required in the way we think about international development if we are to meet the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030. The Global Festival of Ideas plans to help catalyse that revolution.

Join the world’s first ‘playable’ conference on the SDGs and get involved in interactive and immersive sessions that tackle the tough choices and trade-offs in this ambitious global agenda. This festival represents a unique occasion to chart new thinking on the world’s biggest development challenges and mobilise key partnerships and resources to drive action now and in the future.

To attain the SDGs, nutrition needs to be at the front and the centre of the sustainable development agenda. Indeed, while the term “nutrition” explicitly appears only in SDG2 – “End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture” it is interwoven throughout all 17 goals. Nutrition offers a lens through which to consider how actions taken to address one or more SDGs would translate into improved child growth, and how these would then constitute a strong basis for the attainment of other individual goals.
