Recent developments in the World Bank towards a greater emphasis on results based management, on achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), and a shift away from vertical programs towards programmatic lending and poverty reduction strategy credits (PRSCs) provided a backdrop to this discussion meeting on monitoring and evaluation for nutrition. The meeting sought to understand the key issues constraining monitoring and evaluation in Bank-supported projects, and to use this as a basis for development of a larger monitoring and evaluation framework for nutrition investments within the Bank.
