Published in : 2003 Available in : English The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and the World Bank joined forces in April 1999 to provide a fresh perspective on the global effort to address malnutrition, focusing on the roles of the two agencies in shaping the agenda and its implementation. The assessment drew upon several complementary strands, including review of UNICEF and World Bank portfolios, analysis of the evolution of key policy narratives, country case studies, and workshops with UNICEF and World Bank staff and selected external experts. It attempted to "get behind the headlines" to understand how policy change in nutrition happened, what influenced these processes, and what lessons can be learned.
